Navajo County in north central Arizona... Apache County in northeastern Arizona... * Until 700 PM MDT. * At 254 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Greasewood Springs, Steamboat, Cornfields, Sunrise Springs, Greasewood and Twin Buttes. This includes State Route 264 between mile markers 425 and 434. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Steamboat Wash, Pueblo Colorado Wash and Big Dam Wash. Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded as well. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Watch issued September 15 at 11:36AM MST until September 17 at 5:00AM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...All of northern Arizona, including Apache, Navajo, Coconino, Yavapai and northern Gila counties. * WHEN...From late tonight through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes, and over recently burned areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Increasing moisture will combine with a shortwave feature moving north across Arizona to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms from late Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas that receive repeated rounds of rainfall. - Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff.
