Wayne County in southern Utah... * WHEN...Until 1045 AM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of slot canyons, normally dry washes, rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 140 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hanksville, Capitol Reef National Park, Bicknell, Torrey, Hite Marina, Ticaboo, Bullfrog, Halls Crossing, Teasdale, Lyman, Caineville and Fruita. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Heaviest rainfall has already occurred, but lingering rainfall may exacerbate impacts in areas already experiencing ongoing flooding. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, Castle Country, Central Mountains, San Rafael Swell, Bryce Canyon Country, Southern Mountains and Upper Sevier River Valleys. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars including Cottonwood, Widemouth 2, France Canyon, Monroe Canyon, Forsyth, and Silver King. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - While heaviest rain has already fallen across the area, lingering widespread rainfall will continue to exacerbate flooding impacts through early Tuesday morning. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
