Red Flag Warning issued June 30 at 1:00PM MDT until June 30 at 7:00PM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 417, 418, 430, 431, 432, 433, 434, 435, 436, and 437. * WIND...Winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Winds will be west becoming south along the US-20 corridor, and south for the remaining areas of the High Plains further south. * HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... While humidity will improve this evening, gusty and erratic winds along with a few strikes of lightning are possible with scattered shower activity through the evening hours. Outside of the central and southern Nebraska panhandle, this activity is unlikely to come with much, if any, rainfall. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
