Special Weather Statement issued September 19 at 2:41PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL At 240 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms over Henagar southwest to Sylvania, moving south at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Fort Payne, Rainsville, Henagar, Sylvania, Ider, Valley Head, Hammondville, Mentone, Pine Ridge, and Desoto State Park. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
