River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Clarksville. * WHEN...Until Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...At 25.3 feet, The road to Port Marmac, a riverside community of about 13 homes just south of Clarksville, begins flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 25.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 12:00 PM CDT Wednesday was 25.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this afternoon and continue falling to 22.4 feet Wednesday, June 24. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS MONTGOMERY IN SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS CALHOUN GREENE JERSEY MACOUPIN IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS ADAMS BROWN PIKE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF LITCHFIELD, MOUNT STERLING, PITTSFIELD, AND QUINCY.
