Flood Watch issued July 8 at 10:34AM CDT until July 12 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeat rounds of thunderstorms over the next several days will increase the threat for flooding. While 1 to 2 inches is forecast on average, the flooding threat is more from any storms that might sit or repeat over the same areas...where 2 to 3 times that average amount may be enhanced locally, leading to flood issues. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued July 8 at 3:37PM CDT until July 8 at 5:30PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Jackson County in southern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 530 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 337 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Carbondale, Murphysboro, De Soto, Elkville, Ava, Cedar Lake Area, Makanda, Dowell, Campbell Hill and Vergennes. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
