Flash Flood Warning issued June 23 at 4:23PM EDT until June 23 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA At 423 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Ocean City, Berlin, Newark, Cape Isle Of Wight, Ocean Pines, Ironshire, Ocean City Municipality, West Ocean City, Showell, Public Landing, Bishop and Bishopville. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms containing heavy rain are expected through early evening.
