Coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Manasquan Inlet NJ out 20 NM... Waters from Manasquan Inlet NJ to Little Egg Inlet NJ from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Sandy Hook NJ to Manasquan Inlet NJ from 20 to 40 NM... At 856 PM EDT, a gust front from strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm south of Shark River Reef to 12 nm southwest of Pine Beach, moving southeast at 40 knots. Additional thunderstorms will arrive from the west. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. Strong winds will occur well ahead of any rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Ocean Gate, Little Egg Reef, Ship Bottom, Barnegat Light Reef, Garden State South Reef, Axel Carlson Reef, Silverton, Harvey Cedars, Forked River, Lavallette, Beach Haven, North Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Garden State North Reef, Point Pleasant Beach, Little Egg Inlet, Seaside Park, Manasquan Inlet, and Pine Beach. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 3 at 8:35PM EDT until July 3 at 9:15PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 835 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Georgetown, or 13 miles southeast of Trenton, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Locations impacted include... Toms River, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell, Tinton Falls, Beachwood, Burlington, Manasquan, Hightstown, Point Pleasant Beach, Bordentown, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Allentown, Farmingdale, Roosevelt, Wrightstown, Mantoloking, and Allenwood. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 6 and 8A. Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 34. Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 49 and 67. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 76 and 101. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Air Quality Alert issued July 3 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange air quality alert Saturday for Ocean County and southeastern Burlington County New Jersey. A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children...people suffering from asthma... heart disease or other lung diseases...and the elderly. Heat Advisory issued July 3 at 1:40PM EDT until July 4 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Heat index values between 95 and 105 degrees expected each day. * WHERE...Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, and Coastal Ocean Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm low temperatures in the low to mid 70s at night will not offer much relief from the heat and humidity. This combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures will exacerbate the impacts from the heat and humidity. The hottest conditions are expected to occur today before the sea breeze develops, however hot and humid conditions will occur again on Saturday before the sea breeze develops. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your county or state health department website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.
