Southwestern McLennan County in central Texas... * Until 1000 PM CDT. * At 842 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Temple, Belton, Gatesville, Robinson, McGregor, Morgan's Point Resort, Lorena, Troy, Bruceville-Eddy, Moody, Mother Neff State Park, Belton Lake, Fort Gates, Oglesby and Whitson. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

In northeast Texas, Anderson and Leon. In south central Texas, Milam and Robertson. * WHEN...Through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving thunderstorms may result in widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches in a short period of time. Killeen, Temple, Harker Heights, Belton, Fort Hood, Nolanville, Morgan's Point Resort, Belton Lake, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Moffat, Owl Creek, Woodland, Mound, Flat, and The Grove. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
