Flood Watch issued June 18 at 2:38PM EDT until June 19 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee, including the following areas, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Northwest Carter and Sullivan and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Lee, Russell, Scott VA, Washington VA and Wise. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Locally heavy rainfall from scattered showers and storms may lead to isolated flash flooding through this evening. Flood Advisory issued June 18 at 3:31PM EDT until June 18 at 7:30PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Russell and Wise. * WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 331 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lebanon, Cleveland Va, St. Paul, Castlewood and Hansonville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
