Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Other locations impacted by severe thunderstorms include Stony Point, Gibraltar, Estral Beach, and Woodland Beach. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected.

Extreme Heat Warning issued July 3 at 4:10AM EDT until July 3 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability.

Michigan Waters of Lake Erie from Detroit River to North Cape MI... St. Clair River... At 541 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds in excess of 50 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 59 nm southwest of The Mouth Of The Saginaw River to 44 nm west of Wyandotte to 35 nm northwest of Luna Pier to 47 nm west of North Cape, moving east at 45 knots. strong thunderstorms will be near... Wyandotte around 630 PM EDT. Elizabeth Park Marina, Grosse Ile, Detroit Beach, and Gibraltar around 635 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by strong thunderstorms include Woodland Beach, Stony Point, Gibraltar, Estral Beach, and Detroit Beach. Mariners can expect gusty winds in excess of 50 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds in excess of 34 knots, and is likely to pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning will likely be required when these strong thunderstorms reach the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before these strong thunderstorms arrive.
