Flood Advisory issued June 10 at 8:47AM EDT until June 10 at 12:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...The following county, in southeast Indiana, Ripley. * WHEN...Until noon EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 844 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding of low lying roads and creek flooding near Laughery Creek. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen last night. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected for the next several hours. Batesville, Milan, Osgood, Sunman, Holton, Napoleon, Ballstown, Otter Village, Huntersville, Penntown and Interstate 74 at State Route 101. Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Special Weather Statement issued June 10 at 6:51AM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH The combination of temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 and high humidity will result in the heat index reaching 95 to 100 today and then again on Thursday. With these being the first hot days of the year, it may take some time to get acclimated to these conditions. So be extra cautious and take precautions to deal with the heat. If planning to be outdoors for extended periods drink plenty of water, where light and loose clothing, and take frequent breaks.
