Flood Warning issued June 19 at 3:05AM CDT until June 19 at 3:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following county, Sedgwick. * WHEN...Until 300 PM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 305 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire, Mulvane, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Clearwater, Cheney, Sedgwick, Colwich, Garden Plain, Mount Hope, Downtown Wichita, Kechi and Andale. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
