Flood Watch issued July 11 at 3:15AM EDT until July 12 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following areas, Clark IN, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison IN, Jefferson IN, Orange, Perry, Scott IN and Washington IN and Kentucky, including the following areas, Adair, Allen, Anderson, Barren, Bourbon, Boyle, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Butler, Casey, Clark KY, Clinton, Cumberland, Edmonson, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Grayson, Green, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison KY, Hart, Henry, Jefferson, Jessamine, Larue, Lincoln, Logan, Madison, Marion, Meade, Mercer, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Nicholas, Ohio, Oldham, Russell, Scott KY, Shelby, Simpson, Spencer, Taylor, Trimble, Warren, Washington KY and Woodford. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy rain are expected today through the weekend. Already wet soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible, especially with each additional round of rainfall. Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 1:57AM CDT by NWS Louisville KY At 157 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 11 miles west of Munfordville to 10 miles northwest of Glasgow to 14 miles east of Plum Springs to 6 miles northwest of Scottsville. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Glasgow, Munfordville, Three Springs, Horse Cave, Cave City, Smiths Grove, Park City, Three Forks, Logsdon Valley, and Haywood. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
