Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 7:01PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC At 701 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 8 miles southwest of Laurens, or 4 miles northwest of Waterloo, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Laurens, Clinton, Joanna, Waterloo, Cross Hill, Lake Greenwood, Mountville, Kinards, Cross Keys, and Cross Anchor. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
