Flood Advisory issued September 22 at 8:08PM EDT until September 22 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Cherokee County in upstate South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 1130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 804 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gaffney, Blacksburg, Draytonville, Cherokee Falls, Thicketty and Saratt. - Locations in southern Cherokee County along Pacelot Highway, Baker Road, and Blue Branch Road, Elbethel Road, Wash Away Bridge Road, Billy Goat Bridge Road, and Goucher Creek road could see nuisance to minor flooding develop. Locations in the northwestern Cherokee County along Burgess Road, Mintz Farm Road, Twin Bridge Road, and Pennington Lane could also see nuisance to minor flooding develop. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
