Cedar River near Lansing affecting Mower County. Cedar River at Austin affecting Mower County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Cedar River near Lansing. * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 21.2 feet, Water reaches the bottom of the County Road 2 Bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 19.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM CDT Saturday was 19.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.0 feet on 09/24/2010. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Mower County in southeastern Minnesota... Southern Olmsted County in southeastern Minnesota... * WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1030 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported ongoing flooding across the warned area due to 4 to 8 inches of rainfall that occurred overnight. Multiple roadways across the region are closed. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... As this water continues to route through the system, additional rises on rivers and flooding of roadways, parks, and low elevation areas is likely over the next 6 to 12 hours. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches if possible through this evening. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek, southeast Minnesota, including the following counties, Fillmore, Houston and Mower, and southwest Wisconsin, including the following county, Vernon. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
