Extreme Heat Warning issued July 13 at 1:41AM CDT until July 14 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 100. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Crow Wing, Aitkin, Pine, Cass, and Carlton and South St. Louis Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Red Cliff Band, the St. Croix Band in Burnett County, the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Fond du Lac Band, the Bad River Reservation and the Mille Lacs Band, Big Sandy Lake, Hinckley, Lena Lake and, East Lake areas. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Madeline Island. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
