North Central Burlington County in southern New Jersey... Northwestern Ocean County in southern New Jersey... * Until 345 AM EDT. * At 1142 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. * Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Middletown, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Marlboro and Manalapan. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 8A and 12. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 4. Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 7 and 21. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 109 and 133. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued June 14 at 4:43PM EDT until June 15 at 1:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Middlesex, Western Monmouth, Eastern Monmouth, Ocean, Coastal Ocean and Southeastern Burlington. * WHEN...Until 1 AM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.
