For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents. For the Coastal Flood Warning, one to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...Kings (Brooklyn) and Southern Queens Counties. * WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 PM EDT Saturday. For the High Rip Current Risk, through Saturday evening. For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Flooding will occur over multiple high tide cycles tonight through Sunday. The worst flooding is expected with the Saturday morning high tide cycle. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Wind gusts 40-50 mph, locally up to 55 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York. * WHEN...Until 6 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strong winds will last for a very long duration, possibly exceeding 24-36 hours. Considering the long duration rain fall and full foliage of trees, impacts may be exacerbated. The highest localized winds are expected to occur on eastern Long Island and southern New London county. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
