Southeastern Onondaga County in central New York... * Until 1215 PM EDT. * At 1127 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Sylvan Beach to near Homer, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Broadcast media. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Utica, Rome, Sullivan, Oneida, Kirkland, Lenox, Pompey, Lee, Verona, and Westmoreland. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for central New York.
