High temperature
Extreme Heat Watch issued July 8 at 11:24AM MDT until July 13 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT * WHAT...Dangerously hot and humid conditions. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s to low 100s on Saturday and upper 90s to mid 100s on Sunday. Isolated highs near 110 degrees possible in the Yellowstone River Valley on Sunday. * WHERE...All of northeast Montana. * WHEN...From Saturday morning through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight temperatures will range from the upper 60s to mid 70s both Saturday night and Sunday night, providing little relief from the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Special Weather Statement issued July 8 at 10:17PM MDT by NWS Glasgow MT At 1017 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Dodson, or 14 miles west of Malta, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Malta, Saco, Bowdoin, Sleeping Buffalo, and Wagner. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
