Red Flag Warning issued July 25 at 10:56AM PDT until July 25 at 10:00PM PDT by NWS Spokane WA ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY SATURDAY FOR MUCH OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST... * Affected Area: Northern and Central Idaho Panhandle (Zone 101), Foothills of Northeast Washington (Zone 701), Eastern Columbia Basin -Palouse -Spokane Area (Zone 708) and Lower Palouse -Snake River (Zone 709). * Winds: West/Southwest winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Highest wind speeds on the West Plains, Eastern Columbia Basin, and foothills of the Blue Mountains. * Relative Humidities: 14 to 26 percent. * Impacts: Gusty winds and low humidity Saturday may lead to rapid fire spread with any new or ongoing fires. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Air Quality Alert issued July 24 at 4:19PM PDT by NWS Spokane WA An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology Colville Confederated Tribes Environmental Protection Agency An Air Quality Alert has been issued for all of Asotin, Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties through Monday at 11 am, due to current and expected wildfire smoke from regional fires. Areas to the north and northeast of active and emerging fires in Washington and Oregon could reach Unhealthy levels of particulate matter (PM2.5). When air quality is unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.
