Flood Watch issued June 18 at 11:14AM CDT until June 19 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa and Tuscaloosa. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued June 18 at 2:20PM CDT until June 18 at 5:30PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL Periods of very heavy rainfall will be possible through the remainder of the afternoon. Rainfall rates of one to three inches per hour will make driving conditions dangerous. Ponding of water will be likely in poor drainage areas. * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, St. Clair and Talladega. * WHEN...Until 530 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 217 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
