Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm... * Until 800 PM EDT. * At 701 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near West Melbourne to Wabasso, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Return to safe harbor if possible. * Locations impacted include... Eau Gallie, Indialantic, Floridana Beach, Melbourne Beach, and Sebastian Inlet State Park. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately. Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck and, if possible, avoid ungrounded metal objects. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.

Special Weather Statement issued June 17 at 6:58PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL At 657 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Camp Holly Fish Camp, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Palm Bay, Melbourne, Satellite Beach, Malabar, and Indialantic. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of brief funnel clouds. If a funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the National Weather Service. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Seek safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!

This thunderstorm was located near Micco, or near Barefoot Bay, moving northeast at 20 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
