Flash Flood Warning issued June 18 at 11:14AM CDT until June 18 at 4:15PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL ...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR STONE COUNTY... At 1114 AM CDT, emergency management reported significant to major flooding across the county with several water rescues. Between 6 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are likely in the warned area. This will result in major and life threatening flash flooding. FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Stone County. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wiggins, Perkinston, McHenry, Ten Mile, Big Level, Perry, Whites Crossing, Bond, Texas and Ramsey Springs. Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Watch issued June 18 at 10:47AM CDT until June 19 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following areas, Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Baldwin Inland, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia, Mobile Central, Mobile Coastal, Mobile Inland, Monroe, Washington and Wilcox, northwest Florida, including the following areas, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal and Santa Rosa Inland, and southeast Mississippi, including the following areas, George, Greene, Perry, Stone and Wayne. * WHEN...Through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff will result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers is expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Considerable flash flooding is likely and catastrophic flooding is possible. This risk level is associated with a significant number of flood-related deaths and most flash flood-related damages. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will continue through at least Friday afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of 6 to 12 inches are expected with locally in excess of 15 inches near the coast. This will likely cause significant flash flooding, especially in urban and other poor drainage areas. Tornado Watch issued June 18 at 7:56AM CDT until June 18 at 5:00PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 351 UNTIL 5 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON WHICH REPLACES A PORTION OF TORNADO WATCH 348. THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MISSISSIPPI THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI GEORGE STONE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF LUCEDALE AND WIGGINS.
