Flood Advisory issued June 19 at 4:13PM CDT until June 19 at 6:45PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk and San Jacinto. * WHEN...Until 645 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 413 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cleveland, Livingston, Shepherd, Plum Grove, Goodrich, eastern West Livingston, Alabama-Coushatta Reservation, Romayor, Rye, Segno and Tarkington Prairie. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Heat Advisory issued June 19 at 7:15AM CDT until June 20 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Heat index values up to 112 degrees Fahrenheit (44 degrees Celsius). * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
