Flood Watch issued July 13 at 10:36PM CDT until July 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Zavala. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An active period of weather is forecast for South Central Texas through at least Thursday evening as tropical moisture interacts with slow-moving upper level disturbance and outflow boundaries. This combination could lead to heavy rain and flooding. Storm totals of 2 to 6 inches are possible over the Flood Watch area. Isolated amounts of 10 to 15 inches are possible across the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau and western Hill Country. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flood Advisory issued July 14 at 1:14AM CDT until July 14 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding caused from excessive rainfall continues but gradually recedes. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Kerr and Medina. * WHEN...Until 400 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 112 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain had fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Comfort, Bandera, Tarpley, Hill Country State Natural Area, Bandera Falls, Camp Verde, Pipe Creek, Lakehills, Center Point and Lake Medina Shores. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
