Flood Watch issued June 10 at 9:11PM CDT until June 11 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Eastern Will, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, La Salle, Livingston and Southern Will and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter. * WHEN...Until 4 AM CDT /5 AM EDT/ Thursday. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - - A line of thunderstorms with rainfall rates locally in excess of 1 to 2 inches per hour may move across portions of northern and northeastern Illinois late this evening. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 848 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms capable of producing 1 to 2 inch per hour rainfall rates is moving into an area with saturated soils from earlier rounds of rainfall. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Streator, Pontiac, Dwight, Fairbury, Chatsworth, Forrest, Flanagan, Odell, South Streator, Cullom, Cornell, Saunemin, Long Point, Campus, Reddick, Emington and Strawn. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring.
