Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 29 at 5:07AM CDT until June 29 at 5:45AM CDT by NWS Rapid City SD At 507 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 19 miles north of Mosher, or 25 miles northeast of White River, moving northeast at 40 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EASTERN MELLETTE AND NORTHERN TRIPP COUNTIES. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Wood and Butte Creek. This is a dangerous situation with winds expected to produce damage similar to a tornado. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are at an enhanced risk for damage.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 28 at 9:13PM MDT until June 29 at 5:00AM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 412 IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MDT /6 AM CDT/ MONDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN SOUTH DAKOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA MELLETTE TODD TRIPP IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA BENNETT JACKSON OGLALA LAKOTA IN WEST CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA HAAKON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLEN, BILLSBURG, CLEARFIELD, IDEAL, KADOKA, KIRLEY, KYLE, LACREEK WILDLIFE REFUGE, MARTIN, MILESVILLE, MISSION, OGLALA, PHILIP, PINE RIDGE, ROSEBUD, SAINT FRANCIS, TUTHILL, WHITE RIVER, WINNER, AND WOOD. THIS INCLUDES THE TRIBAL LANDS OF THE PINE RIDGE RESERVATION AND THE ROSEBUD RESERVATION.
