A surface trough moving into southeastern Saskatchewan from Montana this afternoon will focus severe thunderstorm development with the potential for tornadoes. Tornado watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. Be prepared for severe weather. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take cover immediately. When out on the water, be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches make for shore and take shelter immediately. It is particularly dangerous to be on a small craft on the open water when lightning is occurring.

This line of thunderstorms is from Spring Valley south to 20 km north of Big Beaver moving quickly to the north and east.
