Flood Watch issued July 9 at 10:09AM CDT until July 12 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky. * WHEN...Through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeat rounds of thunderstorms over the next several days will increase the threat for flooding. While 1 to 2 inches is forecast on average, the flooding threat is more from any storms that might sit or repeat over the same areas...where 2 to 3 times that average amount may be enhanced locally, leading to flood issues. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 7:10PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 710 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Folsomville to near Grandview. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Boonville, Dale, Grandview, Santa Claus, Folsomville, Chrisney, Tennyson, and Gentryville. This includes Interstate 64 in Indiana between Mile Markers 48 and 54. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
