Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 10 at 4:28PM EDT until July 10 at 5:00PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC At 428 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles south of Clemson to 8 miles southwest of Anderson to 8 miles east of Hartwell, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include... Anderson, Homeland Park, Belton, Northlake, Pendleton, Iva, Lake Secession, Starr, Anderson Airport, and Lake Hartwell. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Lake Hartwell, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
