Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 408 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Murrells Inlet, Socastee, Garden City, Red Hill, Myrtle Beach Airport, Bucksport, Burgess, Bucksville, Yauhannah, Forestbrook, Plantersville and Waccamaw Community Hospital. - weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

In South Carolina, Coastal Horry County. * WHEN...Today. * IMPACTS...Longshore currents can sweep swimmers and surfers into rip currents, piers, jetties, and other hazardous areas. It may sweep swimmers off their feet, making it difficult to return to shore. Caution should be used when in or near the water. Check with lifeguards before entering the ocean for possible hazards you may be swept into.
