MATTHEWS, SUMMERTON, SUMTER, WEST COLUMBIA, AND WILLISTON.

Special Weather Statement issued July 12 at 7:55PM EDT by NWS Columbia SC At 755 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles north of Elloree to 7 miles northeast of Blackville. Movement was southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Orangeburg, Bamberg, Denmark, Brookdale, Blackville, St. Matthews, Holly Hill, Branchville, Bowman, Elloree, Santee State Park, Claflin College, South Carolina State University, Orangeburg County Airport, Rivers Bridge State Park, Edisto Gardens, Santee, North, Ehrhardt, and Springfield. This includes the following highways... Interstate 26 between mile markers 134 and 169. Interstate 95 between mile markers 85 and 104. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central South Carolina.
