Trinity River at Riverside affecting Walker, Trinity, Polk and San Jacinto Counties. For the Trinity River...including Riverside, Liberty, Moss Bluff... Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Trinity River at Riverside. * WHEN...Until early Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 133.5 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage with water in the Green Rich Shores subdivision. Backwater flooding up Wright's Creek impacts Plantation Drive in the Deep River Plantation subdivision. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 134.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 132.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:30 PM CDT Saturday was 135.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Monday morning and continue falling to 131.9 feet early Thursday afternoon. - Flood stage is 133.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 134.3 feet on 05/14/2004. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Heat Advisory issued May 25 at 3:19PM CDT until May 27 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 110 expected. For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 112 expected. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas. * WHEN...From noon to 8 PM CDT Sunday and Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
