Southwestern Dallas County in central Iowa... * Until 915 PM CDT. * At 824 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Lake Anita State Park to 5 miles northeast of Lake Icaria to 4 miles south of Nodaway, moving east at 60 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Flood Watch issued September 14 at 11:24AM CDT until September 16 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwestern, central, and northeastern Iowa. * WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely from this midday today through tonight. While rainfall amounts in some areas will be modest, there will be pockets of heavier rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, especially if multiple rounds fall in the same area. In addition, several more rounds of heavy rainfall are expected later this week, from Wednesday onward, and this watch might need to be extended or succeeded by more watches later.
