English River at Kalona affecting Johnson and Washington Counties. .Recent heavy rainfall and run-off will produce flooding on portions of the English River. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...English River at Kalona. * WHEN...From this evening to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water begins approaching several county roads. Agricultural land near the river is flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.9 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 15.9 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. The next statement will be issued by Thursday morning at 1030 AM CDT.

Flood Watch issued June 17 at 10:07AM CDT until June 17 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island and Warren, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall, with some seeing repeating rounds of storms though the day. There will be the potential to see around 3 inches or more of rainfall. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
