Northwestern Adams County in west central Illinois... Southern Knox County in northeastern Missouri... Southern Lewis County in northeastern Missouri... Northwestern Marion County in northeastern Missouri... Northern Shelby County in northeastern Missouri... * Until 200 AM CDT. * At 1105 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Quincy, Mendon, La Grange, Ewing, Steffenville, Maywood, Plevna, Ursa, Taylor, Lima, Novelty, Bethel, Newark, Leonard and Meyer. This includes the following State Parks... Wakonda State Park. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated thunderstorms with rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour may lead to locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Total rain amounts of 3 to 6 inches will be possible in narrow corridors. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
