High Wind Warning issued June 29 at 11:26AM CDT until June 29 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND * WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, east to northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...East Becker, West Becker, Clay, East Otter Tail, and West Otter Tail Counties. * WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
