Maximum wind gusts: 100 to 120 km/h with locally higher gusts possible over exposed coastal areas. Locations: coastal Newfoundland from Green Bay - White Bay to the northern Avalon Peninsula. Time span: this morning until this afternoon for Green Bay - White Bay and later this morning or early afternoon through this evening elsewhere. Remarks: Fully leafed trees are more vulnerable to wind damage at this time of year than during the winter season. Be prepared for possible utility outages and consider having basic supplies such as flashlights and batteries on hand. ### Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Stronger gusts remain possible along exposed areas of the coast. Similar storms in the past have caused: - disruptions to ferry services - tree and minor property damage - scattered utility outages Remarks: Loose objects may be tossed or damaged by the wind. Secure or bring indoors loose items such as seasonal outdoor furniture before the strongest winds arrive. Fully leafed trees are more vulnerable to wind damage at this time of year than during the winter season.
