Flood Advisory issued September 18 at 5:09PM MDT until September 18 at 7:00PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Central Salt Lake County in northern Utah... * WHEN...Until 700 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 509 PM MDT, Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain fell earlier from strong thunderstorms across portions of the Salt Lake Valley, which is resulting in flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Bluffdale, Cottonwood West, Millcreek, Little Cottonwood Creek Valley and East Millcreek. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
