North central Meade County in central Kentucky... * Until 1130 PM EDT/1030 PM CDT/. * At 1106 PM EDT/1006 PM CDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located over Carefree Town, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Corydon, Carefree Town, Leavenworth, Oriole, Moberly, Fredonia, Beechwood, White Cloud, West Fork, and Switzer Crossroads. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
