Flood Watch issued June 8 at 8:01PM CDT until June 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas, including the following counties, Jewell, Mitchell, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks and Smith and south central Nebraska, including the following counties, Franklin, Furnas, Harlan and Webster. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Monday afternoon and evening, portions of the Watch area will receive, or have already received 2-4 inches of rain in a short time, with some flooding already occurring. While much of the area will see at least a few, if not several hours of dry weather in the wake of the first round of storms, another round of thunderstorms could move across the area from west- to-east overnight, mainly between Midnight and sunrise Tuesday. This possible second round of storms could dump as much as 1-2 inches of rain in a short time, which could cause additional flooding issues...especially if additional heavy rain falls over places that already received at least 2 inches of rain from the first round of storms. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
