Navasota River Near Easterly affecting Robertson and Leon Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Navasota River near Easterly. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding below Easterly is expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 21.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.5 feet early tomorrow afternoon. Navasota River near Normangee affecting Grimes, Brazos and Madison Counties. For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee. * WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding continues with widespread inundation of the flood plain in the vicinity of the gage with the river more than 1 mile wide. Long Trussel Road in northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 is threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 14.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 14.3 feet late this morning. It will then rise above flood stage late this afternoon to 15.7 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall to 15.6 feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise to 16.2 feet late Wednesday morning. It will fall again but remain above flood stage. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2 feet on 12/11/2018. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Heat Advisory issued May 26 at 7:54AM CDT until May 27 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Heat index values 105 to 108. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and south central Texas. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase the risk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
