Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 10 at 12:00PM CDT until June 10 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 301 IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA GOODHUE IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 9 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN BARRON POLK RUSK IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN CHIPPEWA DUNN EAU CLAIRE PEPIN PIERCE ST. CROIX THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CHIPPEWA FALLS, DURAND, EAU CLAIRE, HUDSON, LADYSMITH, MENOMONIE, OSCEOLA, RED WING, RICE LAKE, AND RIVER FALLS.

Special Weather Statement issued June 10 at 11:40AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN At 1140 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Goodhue, or 10 miles south of Red Wing, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Goodhue, Bellechester, Red Wing, Wacouta, Frontenac State Park, Frontenac and Central Point. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
