Flood Warning issued July 7 at 1:57AM EDT until July 7 at 6:00AM EDT by NWS State College PA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Blair, Cambria and Huntingdon. * WHEN...Until 600 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 154 AM EDT, emergency management reported flooding beginning to abate. However, a few roads remain closed at this time. - Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Lakemont, Bellwood, Williamsburg, Duncansville, Tipton, Spruce Creek, Canoe Creek State Park, Alexandria, and Penn State Altoona. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Flood Watch issued July 7 at 1:11AM EDT until July 7 at 7:00AM EDT by NWS State College PA * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cameron, Clearfield, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin, Northern Centre, Northern Clinton, Northern Lycoming, Perry, Potter, Snyder, Somerset, Southern Centre, Southern Clinton, Southern Lycoming, Sullivan, Tioga and Union. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The ground is extremely wet in many areas due to rain over the past 3 days. While most of the rain has tapered off or ended, there is still a small chance for rainfall to become locally heavy through sunrise. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
