Flash Flood Warning issued June 6 at 2:18AM EDT until June 6 at 3:15AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 218 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. For White Clay Creek at Newark: At 1:30am the stage was 12.99 feet. Flood Stage is 13 feet. This includes Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 5 and 12. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
