Flood Watch issued June 15 at 9:49AM CDT until June 19 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following parishes, Assumption, Central Jefferson, Central Plaquemines, Central St. Charles, Central Tangipahoa, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Eastern Ascension, Eastern Orleans, Iberville, Lower St. Charles, Lower Tangipahoa, Northern Livingston, Northern St. Tammany, Northern Tangipahoa, Pointe Coupee, Southeast St. Tammany, Southern Livingston, Southwestern St. Tammany, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper St. Charles, Upper Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, Western Ascension and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi, including the following areas, Amite, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison, Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison, Southern Jackson, Walthall and Wilkinson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A very moist airmass will be in place across the area for the next several days. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected through Tuesday night. Special Weather Statement issued June 15 at 3:54PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA At 353 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing funnel clouds along a line extending from near Gloster to near Easleyville to near Greensburg. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds and wind gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Mccomb, Liberty, Greensburg, Amite, Amite City, Magnolia, Kentwood, Roseland, Osyka, Montpelier, Darlington, Wilmer, Gillsburg, Easleyville, Tangipahoa, and Mccomb Airport. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 46 and 66. Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 19. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
