Flood Warning issued June 23 at 3:42AM EDT until June 23 at 8:45AM EDT by NWS Charleston WV * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... Northern Raleigh County in southeastern West Virginia... * WHEN...Until 845 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 342 AM EDT, The heaviest rain has ended, but light to moderate rain continues. A few localized instances of brief heavy rain is also likely through the morning. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.3 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Beckley, Oak Hill, Mount Hope, Mabscott, Bradley, Prosperity, Dry Creek, Piney View, Stanaford, Pax, Artie, Glen Daniel, Arnett, Bolt and Dorothy. - This includes the following highways... Route 19 between mile markers 1 and 13. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 43 and 60. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
